Captain aboard the Annabelle in 1966, sent by Mike Stahl, September 17, 2016.  Mike writes "The Captain's name was Harold Patricio. His wife was Loretta, and they lived on the Island overlooking the ferry dock.  Captain Harold took a job running the Anderson Island ferry in the late '60's, maybe early 1970, and Charlie Wells, who had been a deckhand (and I think sub captain) took over as captain.  Captain Harold *may* have been the original captain, but I'm not 100% sure.  I would have been under one year of age when my parents bought the property in 1959."

Labor Day 2013 Sail Race Winners

Taken from my porch last evening close to 9 p.m. There were quite a few people down at the beach. A big seal was lounging on the swimming float and the sky was absolutely magical. Just another reason this is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. Soft August evenings on Herron Island grab at my heartstrings. And by the way, not all the beautiful sunsets happen on the west side of the island. Sometimes we get pretty lucky on the east side! Photo by Alice V. Nelson, August 21, 2013
